Latest Info Series chats about navigating FASD and COVID-19
The positives of COVID-19? Does this sound like an oxymoron to you? You’re not alone however, this was the overwhelming theme of today’s Info Series on Navigating FASD During the COVID-19 Pandemic.
Thank you to all the caregivers that shared their story about how their lives have changed because of COVID-19 and how that has altered daily routines, structures and their roles. Our families have found this time difficult however, many are reporting positive achievements for our kids with FASD in terms of school accomplishment, time spent outside, doing lots of sensory play and adjusting to new routines.
Self-care was also a large theme and a great reminder. If you are a caregiver of an individual with FASD, or know someone who is, remember to check in on your own needs, take time for you, set goals and expectations that are reachable and kind to yourself. We are all in this together.
